JSC «CIB» shows high interest in projects related to the modernization of enterprises and housing stock in terms of increasing their resource efficiency and implementing green technologies. Thus, representatives of the bank took part in a consultative dialogue on the priority directions of development of the «RECP» (Resource-Efficient and Cleaner Production) project, which is being implemented in Ukraine by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) within the framework of the EaP GREEN program.
«We took a great interest in a number of projects that were presented within the framework of the event. In particular, they dealt with the modernization of several Ukrainian enterprises with the aim of increasing their efficiency in terms of resource consumption and environmental friendliness. Each of these projects has a good economic justification and was developed by qualified specialists», — says Borys Sharypov, Director of the Corporate Business Development Department of JSC «CIB».
According to him, the bank's participation in such programs can be built on providing loans, partially funded by funds from international donors.
«Our team has significant experience of working with international funds, for example, in terms of targeted lending to SMB enterprises. We see significant potential in this market and are ready to consider new promising projects with great interest. There are a huge number of enterprises in Ukraine that significantly lag behind their foreign counterparts in efficiency. Of course, their modernization requires serious investment resources, which the banking system is currently unable to provide. But in partnership with international funds and within the framework of targeted programs, such, for example, as the «RECP» project, their implementation is possible. In the near future, we will carefully study a number of pilot projects prepared for launch and consider the possibility of the Bank's participation in them», — added Tetiana Heiko, Deputy Chair of the Management Board of the «Commercial Industrial Bank».
The RECP project is one of the components of the EaP GREEN program, which is implemented with the financial support of the EU. The Government of Slovenia, the Development Bank of Austria, and UNIDO provide additional financing.
