JSC CIB warns its Clients to be vigilant - there is no quarantine for fraudsters!

In difficult times, swindlers intensify their activity even more. During the forced quarantine, many Ukrainians have already felt this on themselves. Most often, fraudsters use the same methods of deception, namely:

They call the mobile number of a potential victim and, under the guise of the security service of one of the banks, try to gain access to the account. In some cases, they may call themselves representatives of social services or law enforcement agencies. To elderly people, by way of a call or SMS to their mobile, they report a “supplement” to the pension or social assistance. They ask to specify bank card details, the CVC code. After which they receive full control over the victim's payments. They call the mobile number of a potential victim and, under the guise of doctors, report that a relative has ended up in a hospital with suspicion of coronavirus COVID-19 and demand funds for tests and treatment.

And the other day, the NBU reported on another scam invention and how not to be caught on their hook:
They send citizens SMS messages on behalf of the National Bank about «social assistance» allegedly accrued. Or about mythical drawings of valuable prizes and lotteries «under the auspices of the NBU».

The National Bank does NOT accrue and does NOT pay social assistance!

The National Bank does NOT organize drawings or lotteries!
