Since the beginning of February of this year, the Ukrainian banking system has encountered a number of information and technological attacks from the aggressor state. Thus, on February 15-17, 2022, a cyberattack was carried out against a number of Ukrainian banks, as a result of which some electronic services of individual commercial banks temporarily did not work. In addition, systemic information attacks are being carried out against the banking system of Ukraine (false reports about the mining of branches and ATMs, rumors about a so-called «bank collapse», false reports about the absence of funds in ATMs, etc.).
Starting from February 1, 2022, a powerful information attack has been carried out against ComInBank, which is a bank with British capital. During the specified attack, using anonymous telegram channels, domestic and foreign mass media with dubious reputations, false information was distributed about the presence of problems at the bank, the introduction of temporary administration, and the presence of corrupt ties with the leadership of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The specified information has been repeatedly refuted by ComInBank, and the full and timely fulfillment by the bank of all its obligations and economic norms of the NBU proves the absurdity of the specified publications. The bank cooperates and communicates with the National Bank of Ukraine exclusively in the legal field and in accordance with the current legislation of Ukraine. We consider the specified attack on ComInBank as part of a systemic attack on the banking system of Ukraine, aimed at destabilizing the socio-economic system of Ukraine, forming panic moods in society.
ComInBank separately emphasizes that it carries out communication exclusively through official channels (the bank's website, the bank's social media), and views any publications in anonymous telegram channels as provocation.
