Today, the All-Ukrainian information campaign on the safety of cash settlements "Anatomy of the hryvnia", conducted by the National Bank of Ukraine, is launching.
The aim of the campaign – is to teach Ukrainians to quickly check hryvnia banknotes for authenticity and to remind the public which banknotes and coins are in circulation, and which are no longer accepted for payment.

Checking the authenticity of a banknote is easy!
To do this, perform three steps to check the authenticity of a banknote:
Step 1. Check the banknote by touch
Feel the banknote paper and the embossing of the images
Step 2. Look at it against the light
Check the watermarks
Check the see-through element
Check the microtext of the stripe
Step 3. Change the angle of tilt
You can see how the element changes color.
Check several security elements!
Ask for another banknote if you doubt its authenticity.
If you have in your wallet a banknote of questionable authenticity and payment validity, contact any bank to send such cash for examination to the National Bank.
This procedure is free. According to its results, you will be compensated for the amount of funds that have been recognized as authentic and payment valid. Otherwise, the money is not compensated, and such cases are reported to law enforcement agencies for conducting investigations.
