The final transition of all bank customer settlements to the international IBAN standard took place - 13.01.2020

Today the final transition of all settlements of bank clients to the international IBAN standard took place.

From January 13, 2020, clients of banks can carry out settlements exclusively using accounts in the IBAN format.

Thanks to the reduction in the number of details, the use of this international standard makes the formalization of settlement documents more comfortable.

We remind you that earlier the National Bank of Ukraine extended the operation of the transition period of the international bank account (IBAN).

In accordance with the resolution of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 118 dated 26.09.2019:

until January 12, 2020, a transition period was in effect, during which it was possible to carry out settlements both using IBAN and in the old format: the Bank's MFO code and account number. from January 13, 2020, all transfers in national and foreign currency are carried out exclusively in the IBAN standard.

From August 5, 2019, in accordance with the resolutions of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 162 dated 28.12.2018 and No. 41 dated 22.02.2019, all banks of Ukraine, including JSC «CIB», opened new accounts for Clients in the IBAN standard.

WHAT IS IBAN? IBAN (international bank account number) — is an international bank account number that allows the bank to uniquely identify the client. According to the standard, an account in the IBAN form must contain a country code, for example, UA for our state, up to 29 digits of the basic bank account, and 2 control digits that allow with the help of a special algorithm to understand that there has been an error in the IBAN.

HOW IS IBAN FORMED? The bank account number (IBAN) is formed in accordance with the National Standard of Ukraine «Financial Operations». Rules for forming the international bank account number (IBAN) in Ukraine. (IBAN Registry:2009, NEQ) DSTU-N 7167:2010”, approved by the order of the State Committee of Ukraine on Technical Regulation and Consumer Policy dated October 11, 2010 No. 454.

RULES FOR FORMING THE INTERNATIONAL BANK ACCOUNT NUMBER (IBAN) IN UKRAINE:

IBAN in Ukraine consists of 29 alphanumeric symbols: UA + NN + 339500 + XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

UA – (2 letters) – country code Ukraine DSTU ISO3166-1; NN — (2 digits) – control number, which is calculated in accordance with the algorithm for calculating the control number; 322540 — (6 digits) — Code of JSC «CIB»; XXX…XXX — (19 digits) — client's account. (In case the account number has fewer than 19 digits, the corresponding number of zeros is added to it, which is put before the account number.

Please note that the change of accounts does not lead to changes in the provisions of agreements that were concluded between Clients and the Bank. The Bank has independently informed regulatory authorities about the change of accounts.

Attention! The Bank's Clients are obligatorily required to independently inform their partners who carry out settlements with them about the new account number opened at the Bank under IBAN standards.
