COMINBANK continues its educational initiative about history and Ukrainian traditions

COMINBANK continues to implement educational initiatives aimed at teaching children about the history of Ukraine and the rich traditions of our people. On the eve of Easter, the financial institution, together with its partner the Museum ‘Formation of the Ukrainian Nation’, gave schoolchildren a master class in Easter egg making.

‘Today we invite you to the world of Easter eggs, to the world of bright colours, to the world of traditions, to the world of symbols that you can depict on Easter eggs,’ said Tatiana Putintseva, Chairman of the Management Board of COMINBANK, greeting the children. ‘Think about the fact that these days, when people in all corners of our country make Easter eggs and bake Easter cakes, we all become a big friendly family. So today I want you to learn even more about the celebration of Ukrainian Easter. I would like to remind you that our bank not only makes a conscious contribution to the dissemination of historical truth, but also cares about cultural customs and values. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who came to the masterclass today.’

The traditions of Ukrainian Easter egg making date back to the 11th century, when clay models of eggs decorated with watering cans were made. When the Soviet government almost destroyed folk pysanky in Ukraine, the tradition was developed by the Ukrainian diaspora in Canada and the United States. The interest in making Easter eggs was renewed with the restoration of independence, when the International Congress of Easter Egg Makers was held in 1992.

Maria Videiko, a master of pysanky, a member of the National Union of Masters of Folk Art of Ukraine, taught children. Mariia has been conducting masterclasses for over 15 years and has participated in many exhibitions, including two solo exhibitions. She was awarded the title of People's Master for her Easter eggs.

Before the event, Myroslava Zabrodska, Deputy Director of the Museum of the Formation of the Ukrainian Nation, presented a letter of gratitude to Tetiana Putintseva for her fruitful cooperation with the museum, her creative approach and active work for the benefit of a prosperous Ukraine.

‘It's too early to say Happy Easter, but we can congratulate each other on a good mood. We all have a common desire for Ukraine to continue to move closer to victory,’ added Myroslava Zabrodska.

After the masterclass, the guests had the opportunity to see the Museum's exhibition ‘Formation of the Ukrainian Nation’, plunge into the world of unique cyber-skin exhibits, and learn about the life and work of prominent historical figures of Ukraine.

COMINBANK launched its educational work to spread true historical knowledge on the occasion of the 30th anniversary in 2023. The financial institution implements humanitarian and educational initiatives united by the general concept of DOBROKOLO, which includes several important areas of assistance to Ukraine, children and adults.
