COMINBANK, a bank with a history, celebrated the Day of Ukrainian Writing and Language with a calligraphy masterclass.
The participants had the opportunity to learn the basics of Ukrainian (Cossack) cursive script and its origins and development.
At the same time, in today's world of rapid digitalisation, traditional skills such as calligraphy take on a special meaning, helping to maintain a connection with the past and to understand cultural heritage more deeply.
Kateryna Korchagina, calligrapher, artist, teacher at the National Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Art and Me School:
"Calligraphy in our time is a lifeline for mental health. When you're constantly nervous, and during the war you don't need any extra reasons to be, it's enough to sit down and write out phrases in beautiful letters for half an hour to switch your attention. The practice makes you sit comfortably, breathe calmly, relax if you want each letter to be beautiful... For me, calligraphy today is both meditation and learning about our history."
COMINBANK continues its historical and educational mission launched on the occasion of its 30th anniversary and promotes the dissemination of important knowledge. Another useful event emphasised the importance of preserving and disseminating historical heritage, and provided an opportunity to join the traditional art of writing.
