COMINBANK experts took part in the training ‘Management of environmental and social risks’

Representatives of JSC ‘COMINBANK’ attended the training on ‘Environmental and Social Risk Management’, which took place in Chisinau (Moldova) on 16-18 April.

The event took place within the framework of the World Bank's ‘Emergency Inclusive Support for the Recovery of Agriculture in Ukraine’ (ARISE) Project with the participation of the Enterprise Development Fund.

Participants had the opportunity to discuss the main concepts, processes, challenges and opportunities of environmental and social risk management.

During the event, COMINBANK's employees expanded their understanding of the management of these risks, which will help improve the process of their implementation and ensure a unified approach by all banks. The participants also received information that will help review the Bank's Environmental and Social Management System (EMS) and bring it in line with the requirements of World Bank projects, deepen their knowledge of the World Bank's environmental and social standards and knowledge of environmental and social (ES) risks and their impacts on specific sectors, including agribusiness.

Currently, the World Bank is making efforts to transform the Ukrainian banking system towards sustainable lending, including through the integration of the Environmental and Social Risk Management System, and emphasises the importance of integrating the ESS for Ukraine.

Today, COMINBANK values the pursuit of sustainable development and takes effective steps towards the development of sustainable finance. The bank is on the way to effectively implementing ESG principles in its risk management systems.
