Conditions for sending transfers outside of Ukraine

* In accordance with Resolution of the Board of the National Bank of Ukraine No. 18 ‘On the operation of the banking system during the period of martial law’ dated 24.02.2022, cross-border transfers outside Ukraine are not allowed. 

Resident individuals can make transfers of foreign currency outside of Ukraine:

• in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of UAH 400,000 in one transaction (business) day - from a current account in foreign currency or without opening it (at the request of the client) without supporting documents;
• in the amount exceeding the equivalent of UAH 400,000 in one transaction day - exclusively from a current account in foreign currency on the basis of supporting documents.

Non-resident individuals can make transfers of foreign currency outside of Ukraine:

• without opening current accounts in foreign currency, an amount not exceeding the equivalent of UAH 400,000 per transaction (business) day, based on documents confirming the source of foreign currency;
• transfers in foreign currency outside Ukraine from current accounts of non - resident individuals are made without limiting the amount.

Terms of payment of transfers in foreign currency

Foreign currency transferred from abroad in favor of a resident and non-resident individual for payment in cash without opening an account may be paid to the recipient within one transaction (business) day in an amount not exceeding the equivalent of UAH 400,000. If the amount of the transfer(s) received within one transaction (business) day exceeds the equivalent of UAH 400,000, such transfer(s) shall be credited in full to the recipient's foreign currency current account.

Transfers from abroad are credited to the current accounts of resident and non-resident individuals and subsequently paid out from these accounts without any limit on the amount.

Services that are required to send/receive a transfer

in case of sending a transfer in foreign currency outside Ukraine or paying out a transfer in foreign currency received from abroad in an amount exceeding the equivalent of UAH 400,000 in one transaction (business) day, it is necessary to open a current account in the currency of the transfer.

Opening a current account for sending or receiving international money transfers is free of charge.
